Martins stepped up to the challenge and got a brace in a match, which was deservedly won by the Magpies.  This was the first time this season, when Newcastle outplayed their opponenets off the park.  Guttierez was here, there and everywhere tormenting the Villa defence.  The Toon defenders solid at the back, limitting Aston Villa to only a couple of chances over the 93 minutes.  The result propels Newcastle up to 14th place and above Sunderland.  Given that "we hate sunderland", this is one more good reason to celebrate.

The next match is against Fulham away at Craven Cottage.  Fulham although struggling away, have been solid at home.  So, it's going to be a tough match to get any kind of result from.  A third win in a row would put Newcastle up to where they should realy be, at this stage of the season; Mid table!!
