Newcastle went to London again, this time to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea, the league leaders.  They defended against relentless Chelsea attacks for nearly all of the 93 minutes.  When Middlesbrough went to Chelsea a few seasons ago, and defended in the same mannor, the then chelsea manager remarked "They came and parked their bus in front of their goal".  This was a very similar performance.  Chelsea had over 25 chances to walk away with all 3 points.  But by hook or crook this was a match that they were not destined to win.

We are now 15th in the table, with the teams below yet to play their 14th game.  Chances are that we will be back in the bottom 3 by the end of the weekend, but today's result was an unexpected one, given the history of this fixture over the past decade!
